John Cruickshank LLB (NZ) - Solicitor - Advocate and Director of nearly 40 years experience as Prosecutor, Defence Attorney, and in the last 25 years has concentrated in Commercial Company & Property Law, property related litigation and leasehold enfranchisement and lease extensions, wills and probate and tax planning. He is also a Privy Council Agent. One of the pioneers as a lawyer on the Web having had a 'Web' presence since 1995.

John’s outside interests include sailing, motorsport wine tasting, tennis, skiing and badminton. He is a past president of Hampstead London Lions Club and a former Volunteer Service Abroad volunteer and served for over 15 years as a Citizens Advice adviser.

Dr Xiaojiu Zhu (PhD) – Solicitor and Director of Cruickshank Limited. Dr Zhu was born in Beijing obtained her PhD in Biochemistry and worked many years as a post doctor scientist with MIT USA in the field of host immunity and vaccine development. She continued her work in London at Imperial Cancer Research Fund (ICRF) and the Medical Research Council (MRC) before studying law at the College of Law London. She completed her articles with Clifford Chance and worked briefly for Rouse & Co International London office, a firm specialising in Intellectual property before joining Cruickshanks. Dr Zhu is fluent in Mandarin. She currently acts for Chinese corporate and private investors in their investments into the UK, including an acquisition of a TV station. Combining her legal knowledge with her scientific analytical skill, she often offers practical & dynamic solutions to clients' issues. In addition, she is able to provide a unique interface for the Chinese speaking client and the English legal system.

Dr Zhu devoted many years to the advancement of Chinese education and culture. She is a long serving Headmistress of London Mandarin School with over 300 students, an Executive Vice President of UK Association for the Promotion of Chinese Education. She is the founder and President of the UK Society of Chinese Lawyers, Honorary President of UK China Economic and Trade Exchange Association. She is the legal consultant to many UK organisations, such as UK Research and Development Centre for Chinese Traditional Culture, UK Tianjin Chinese Association, and Beijing Association of the UK, etc.

Raymond provides legal services to British and Chinese clients across a variety of industries including mining, pharmaceutical, financial institutions, securities, mergers and acquisitions, energy and environmental.

Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese, and travelling regularly to China, Raymond is highly effective in assisting with the bridging of diversities between Western and Chinese business cultures. He is primarily involved in business transactions and investments with a special international focus on inbound UK-China related activities.

His UK-China business development practice includes the listing of Chinese businesses, such as Camkids, on the AIM market. He is also involved in natural resources related transactions, and business investments and acquisitions by Chinese state-owned enterprises, such as China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) and Sinochem, and other privately owned Chinese investors such as Reignwood Group.

Xiaolin Ma - Solicitor. Xiaolin Ma obtained Law degrees at both China University of Political Science and Law in Beijing and The College of Law in London and an MBA in the UK. Before moving to the UK, he worked as an inspector at Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, Guang Dong Province, China. Xiaolin Ma was a founding partner of Anglo Chinese Lawyers LLP London.

Xiaolin qualified with Cruickshank in 2013. He is immigration specialist, but also has experience in residential and commercial property, especially assisting clients from China to buy UK new built properties. .Xiaolin is a fluent Mandarin, Cantonese and English speaker.

Xiaolin is interested in sports, arts, reading and traveling.

Grace Wu

Grace Wu – Office Manager. Grace grew up in Beijing, China and has a wealth of experience working in multinational Companies in her homeland before moving to the UK. She is able to offer a personal touch as our first point of contact for client enquiries and is a fluent Mandarin and English speaker. She is also our office and accounts administrator.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading detective stories.

Sabina Ifraimova

Sabina Ifraimova

Sabina Ifraimova LLB, MA – Consultant Solicitor. Sabina was born in the Crimea, Ukraine. She moved to the UK over 20 years ago to study at an international school and than continued to complete her law degree and LPC at the University of Westminster. Sabina is a native Russian speaker.

After qualifying as a solicitor in 2005 at Cruickshanks Sabina went on to work at Crust Lane Davis and further on various property related projects. She deals with commercial and residential property purchases, sales and developments in the prime London market and has experience working with high net worth individuals, large development companies and property groups. She has presented seminars to potential property investors.

Sabina is very approachable and appreciates that property law has as much to do with being practical as with solving complicated legal situations.

In her spare time Sabina enjoys extensive traveling, art exhibitions and socialising. 

Ran Yu

Ran Yu

After graduated from Kent University with Law and Economics Joint Honours, Ran completed LL.M at the University of Law with distinction. Ran has gained experience in financial and legal sectors, and she worked within the areas of Property, Employment and Commercial law. Having recently graduated from Legal Practice Course, she is now enjoying her time assisting Cruickshanks legal team as well as its clients.

In her spare time, she enjoys astanga yoga training, rock climbing and travelling.    

Claire Wang

Claire Wang

Claire is a graduate of Jiangxi University of Science and Technology, with a first in English, a Masters in International Business Management from the University of Bradford, and a LLB from the University of Law London.

Claire has experience in immigration law and is working towards a traineeship to complete her post graduate experience to become a solicitor. She currently assists in Cruickshank’s property department. She is a fluent Mandarin speaker.

Claire’s interests include hiking, swimming, badminton and listening to classical music.

Patricia Chen

Pui San (Patricia) Chen - Solicitor is a consultant to CRUICKSHANKS. Patricia is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese and Malay. She graduated with Honours in Law from the University of Glamorgan, South Wales. She also qualified as a Malaysian advocate & solicitor. She was called to the Bar in Malaysia in 1999, practicing Malaysian law until 2005; she then qualified as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales in 2006.

Patricia is experienced in property sales & purchases, new builds conveyancing matters, generally and commercial and corporate due diligence.

Patricia’s outside interests include travelling, reading, the countryside and photography.
