Xiaojiu – obtained her doctorate in Biochemistry and worked many years as a post doctor scientist with MIT USA in the field of host immunity and vaccine development. She continued her work in London at Imperial Cancer Research Fund (ICRF) and the Medical Research Council (MRC) before studying law at the College of Law London. She completed her articles with Clifford Chance and worked briefly for Rouse & Co International London office, a firm specialising in Intellectual property before joining Cruickshanks. Dr Zhu is fluent in Mandarin and currently acts for Chinese corporate and private investors in their investments into the UK which recently included an acquisition of a TV station. Combining her legal knowledge with her scientific analytical skills, she offers practical & dynamic solutions to clients’ legal issues. She is able to provide a unique interface for the Chinese speaking client to the English legal system.She is the founder and President of the UK Society of Chinese Lawyers; Honorary President of UK China Economic and Trade Exchange Association. She is the legal consultant to many UK organisations, such as UK Research and Development Centre for Chinese Traditional Culture, UK Tianjin Chinese Association, and Beijing Association of the UK, etc. She devoted many years to the advancement of Chinese education and culture and is a long serving Headmistress of London Mandarin School which has 300 students, and an Executive Vice President of UK Association for the Promotion of Chinese Education.
